Unraid cache disk is low on space
WebJul 31, 2024 · Beginner. Posts: 1. Comments: 1. While trying to save to my unraid server in the the backup share that I have made public. The Acronis software errors with not enough disk space. The backup is 780 Gb and I have 5.6Tb free. Any ideas where to chase this down? I had used this in the past but it was without a cache pool on the unraid server just … WebApr 2, 2024 · I tried formatting the cache disk (by changing the file system and then back to the original one) but no luck either. The shares are all set to 0 KB minimum free space, I tried increasing the limit to 1 GB but nothing. I've also tried rolling UnRAID back to the last version I had saved. What else can I try? WebJun 29, 2024 · Minimum Free set to 10GB, disk has 15GB free, so it can be chosen. You write a 20GB file, and the disk runs out of space and the write fails. Cache also has a Minimum Free setting in Global Share Settings. If cache has less than minimum, cache-yes and cache-prefer shares will overflow to the array.
WebMar 29, 2024 · Huge +1 on this. The cache already has its own global "Minimum Free Space" option under the "Cache Settings" header. Unraid should not ignore this in favor of a share's free space settings, which should be a value optimized for the array disks. Overriding the global cache value with something share-specific leads to negative, unexpected behavior. WebBut I am unsure what exactly is taking up how much space, and when it is taking up space. I know I can go to my server in the cli and type something this: du -sh *. and it will list all my directories, and the sizes of each directory. WebJan 17, 2024 · Set media shares to Cache: Yes and use a HDD cache. Use the mover tuning plugin if you’d like to set up a pseudo read cache. Set System/Appdata shares to Cache: Prefer and use a SSD cache. Set media unpack shares to Cache: Prefer and use a SSD cache (preferably a separate cache from System/Appdata), or RAID 0 HDD cache (my preference).
