Have to emphasize the starting and stopping the engine can (will) really hammer the battery. A battery needs replenishing after starting an engine. You can purchase a new resister or buy a new fan assembly. Mine did the same thing and I just purchased the whole fan assembly and changed it out. to change the resistor, you have to take the fan assembly out. So I just changed the whole thing.
