WebLauriston reservoir As the third water storage to be built, Lauriston Reservoir was constructed in the 1930s to supplement Bendigo’s urban supply. It’s the deepest water storage in the Coliban Water system. It’s a beautiful place to visit for family picnics, fishing, kayaks, canoes and small portable craft (car toppers). The reservoir was constructed in the period of 1938-41. Kyneton’s water supply originally came from the Little Coliban River with two reservoirs at Fern Hill. The system now provides 100% of Tylden’s water with the majority of water for Kyneton being pumped from the Lauriston Reservoir.
